If you were given a major project that had an unrealistic deadline, how would you communicate this to your supervisor?
An interviewer wants to know how you've dealt with something as challenging as a boss with an unrealistic expectation as much as they want to know the outcome. With these types of questions, they also want to understand who you are as a person as much as knowing what you do as an accountant. So the interviewer is very interested in learning about similar situations you've dealt with but they'll also be listening to your response for other, more personal clues. Will you fit in with the team or department? Will you be easy to manage or difficult? Are you the type of person the company needs? Be yourself, but show flexibility and the ability to adapt.
