What part of accounting do you like the most? Analyzing, recording, auditing, reporting or budgeting?
Here, the interviewer is trying to find out about your preferences and behaviors in the work setting and whether they're in sync with the ones they'd expect in their own. So your responses should clearly illustrate the span of your accounting experience including the topics they mention – analyzing, auditing, recording, reporting and budgeting. Your pre-interview preparation may have brought some of these topics to the surface but be cautious when disclosing parts of the profession that you'd prefer not to be involved with. Your preferences, attitudes and standards of behavior are extremely important markers of what type of employee you would be. Make sure you're portraying positive attributes and characteristics, ones that can translate to this new organization and add worth.
